Theological Working Group

The Theological Working Group of the BCC will advance the organization’s mission by promoting critical, creative theological and ethical reflection on matters of public policy. While much of the BCC’s yearly work is primarily focused on providing resources and tools for public policy advocacy and civic engagement, the Theological Advisory Group provides space for progressive theological reflection and discourse on issues at the intersection of ethics, politics, and religion.

Through the Theological Advisory Group, we hope to:

  • Encourage clergy to think theologically about matters of public policy.
  • Promote civil, engaging, progressive theological debate and dialogue.
  • Help clergy, churches, and communities connect faith and theology to practices of freedom
